Petalume Oversized Floral Wool Rug

Petalume Oversized Floral Wool Rug brings a softer botanical direction to the floor through an oversized floral composition and an earthy, naturally balanced palette. Off white, beige, light brown, brown, terracotta and olive green create a warm color story that can complement natural materials and transitional interiors. Hand tufted New Zealand wool construction gives the rug a handcrafted presence suited to living rooms, bedrooms, lounges and offices.

Oversized Floral Artwork

Petalume is defined by large floral forms that create an artwork-like presence across the rug. The oversized scale allows the flowers to remain visible even when the rug is placed beneath furniture, while the organic composition gives the room a connection to botanical design.

The floral pattern is expressive without depending on a highly saturated palette. This makes the rug particularly useful when you want a statement floral design but prefer earthier tones. The artwork can serve as the bridge between neutral furniture and warmer natural finishes.

Hand Tufted New Zealand Wool

The rug is made from New Zealand wool using hand tufted construction. This combination gives the surface a warm textile character and supports the detailed development of the floral artwork.

Hand tufting is well suited to designs where different shapes and color fields need to be developed across the surface. The wool material complements this handcrafted construction with a naturally tactile quality that works comfortably within layered interiors.

Earthy Color Story

The specified colors are off white, beige, light brown, brown, terracotta and olive green. The color mood is earthy, organic and soft contrast. Together, these colors create a grounded palette that can work with timber, linen, stone, leather and other natural-looking interior finishes.

Off white and beige provide lighter areas, while brown and light brown give the composition warmth. Terracotta adds a more noticeable accent and olive green reinforces the botanical connection. Rather than matching every color, consider repeating one or two tones through cushions, ceramics, artwork or plants.

Size, Shape & Planning

Petalume is a rectangular rug available in 10×10, 9×12, 9×9, 8×11, 8×10, 8×8, 7×10, 7×7, 6×9, 6×6, 5×8, 5×7, 5×5 and 4×6. This broad size range allows the design to be adapted to different room proportions.

When selecting the size, consider the furniture grouping and the amount of visible rug you want around it. A larger size can create a unified seating area, while a smaller size can introduce the floral artwork into a more contained zone.

Styling Ideas

Living Room

Pair Petalume with neutral or warm-toned upholstery and natural wood. Let the floral composition provide the main decorative statement while keeping smaller accessories restrained.

Bedroom

The earthy palette can complement soft bedding, timber furniture and warm neutral walls. A carefully selected size can frame the bed area without requiring additional bold patterns.

Lounge & Office

In lounges and offices, the floral artwork can introduce an artistic botanical reference while the earthy palette keeps the overall atmosphere composed.
